SDE2- Backend Engineer

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Development and testing of key platform features for a startup focusing on the marketing technology space.
• Work with a team of engineers and deliver features and functions as outlined by your engineering manager.
• Develop using test driven development for all your work.
• Focus on good design and justify your designs.
• Be a steward for security and privacy.
• Improve engineering processes and standards within the team

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills:

• You have 5+ years work experience as part of a core engineering team at a product company
• Experience with processing, storing and analyzing very large amounts of data
• Deep understanding and experience working with at least one of Python, NodeJS, Scala, Java (8 or above) or another modern OOP language. 
• Good problem solving skills and understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Supporting Skills:

• Container based development with tools such as Docker
• Experience working with data streaming applications built with Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink etc
• Experience working with Kubernetes
